They’re designed for travellers who want the ease of a fully hosted journey with a boutique, luxury feel, rather than a big-coach experience. They suit couples, families, friends and solo travellers who value comfort, considered pacing and the company of like-minded guests, and who’d like every detail handled so they can simply enjoy the country.
Our departures are intentionally intimate, capped at a limited number of guests so the experience feels closer to a private journey than a traditional group tour. Each departure is led by a dedicated PTI tour director, supported by expert local guides where relevant, with every transfer, stay and experience managed seamlessly from arrival to departure.
A typical departure includes thoughtfully chosen accommodations in handpicked luxury hotels and retreats, selected meals, tailored touring with PTI guides, entrance fees for included experiences and private transfers as outlined in the itinerary. Full inclusions are confirmed in writing when you enquire, so you know exactly what’s covered before you book.
Of course. Many of our guests choose to add pre or post nights in Reykjavík, private touring days, helicopter journeys or bespoke experiences alongside the set itinerary. Just tell us what you’d like to add and we’ll arrange it around your departure, so the tour itself flows seamlessly with your wider time in Iceland.
Our autumn departures fall at the start of aurora season, when darker evenings return and conditions become favourable, so sightings are very possible. That said, the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and depend on weather, cloud cover and solar activity, so they can never be guaranteed. Our guides keep a close eye on forecasts throughout the trip and adjust evenings where they can to give you the best possible chance.
